Kate Middletons baby will soon be here, with April confirmed by Kensington Palace as the month she and William are expecting their third-born.

But despite knowing Prince George and Charlottes younger brother or sister will be born this month, we still dont know the exact due date or, in fact, if theyre expecting a boy, girl or even twins.

With Kate and Williams seventh wedding anniversary on 29 April, if Kate is due towards the end of the month, she could well end up going into labour just as shes toasting her marriage with William.

Heres what we know about the royal babys birth so far…

What will their baby boy or baby girl be called?

While we still dont know the sex of the next royal baby, Ladbrokes have presented odds based on what their punters have been choosing.

And according to the bookies, there has been a spike in the number of people choosing the name Alice for Prince George and Princess Charlottes younger sibling.

Currently, the favourite name is Mary, with odds of 4/1, while Alice is closely closing in with odds of 6/1. Victoria is third most-likely at 8/1.

If William and Kates third child is a boy, the joint favourite names are Albert or Arthur, both with odds of 12/1.

Alex Apati from Ladbrokes said: Mary remains the 4/1 favourite as things stand, but it wont be long before Alice takes over at the head of the market.

Queen Victorias second daughter was named Princess Alice of the United Kingdom (1843-1878) and Alice was a favourite name for the royals when Kate was pregnant with Princess Charlotte in 2015.

Kensington Palace confirmed Kate is due to give birth to her and Prince Williams third royal baby in April, meaning she worked longer than she needed to.

It was expected Kate would pack up with her royal duties around one month before her due date, judging by what she did with Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two.

That means her due date is likely to be towards the end of April.

Kates last public engagement in the royal calendar was attending an event in Stratford, London, celebrating the Commonwealth with husband Prince William by her side.

However, it was announced last month that the Duchess Of Cambridge has become the first royal patron of the Victoria and Albert museum.

Her role was effective as of yesterday, which was four days into her maternity leave.

A statement on Kensington Palaces Twitter feed read: The Duchess of Cambridge is to become the first Royal Patron of the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Could the third royal baby share Princess Charlottes birthday?

Given the Duchess has only just gone on maternity leave, it is possible her due date is at the end of April.

If this is so, it means there is a high chance they could end up sharing their birthday with two-year-old Princess Charlotte. After all, babies dont always arrive on time, do they?

Princess Charlottes birthday is on 2 May, when she will turn three, and if Kate ends up being overdue, she could be dashing to The Lindo Wing at St Marys hospital just as Charlottes about to blow out her candles.
