The shocking moment trouble flared ahead of a shooting at a shisha lounge was caught on CCTV.

Footage shows violence erupting between a group of men – just hours before a gunman opened fire at Arabian Nites in Birmingham.

A huge gang can be seen viciously fighting with each other and security staff directly outside the venue in Bissell Street, Digbeth.

In the chaotic mass brawl, the thugs threw punches and kicks at one another, while others decided to use metal barriers as weapons.

The hooded men began ramming each other and the shutters of the club with barricades as the fight continued into the early hours of March 25.

Shots were believed to have been fired through a window from a passing vehicle.

No one was injured and officers are fast tracking CCTV enquiries.

The savage incident isnt the first time police have been called to the venue.

West Midlands Police confirmed officers had been called to punch-ups at the venue three weekends in a row in February and March.

In shocking scenes on one occasion, glasses and tables were hurled across the dancefloor at the venue.

A statement from the force read: Police received a call from staff at Arabian Nites shisha lounge at 1.25am on 25 February reporting a stand-off with a group of men at the entrance.

Officers arrived within a few minutes but the men had dispersed and no offences were disclosed.

On March 3, a fight kicked off and a man was attacked with a mop handle.

Police added: Officers are also investigating an assault at the venue that happened at around 10.40pm on March 3.

Its understood an argument took place between two men, one of whom was then attacked with a metal mop handle.

Enquiries are on-going; officers have spoken to the club management, seized CCTV and items have been recovered for forensic analysis.
