‘Never forgotten’: Ski champion’s daughter drowns in pool
The 19-month-old daughter of America's most decorated skier has died after drowning in a neighbour's pool.
Bode Miller said his daughter Emeline died in hospital on Sunday after the tragedy on Saturday evening.
It is understood the Millers were at a neighbour's house in Southern California when the little girl wandered off.
She was later found unconscious in the pool, and pulled out by her father, who tried to revive her.
On Instagram, Miller posted: "We are beyond devastated. Our baby girl, Emmy, passed away yesterday.
"Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this.
"Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten. Our little girl loved life and lived it to its fullest everyday.
"Our family respectfully requests privacy during this painful time."
The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) told ABC they were called to the home at 6.30pm on Saturday, and the little girl was taken to hospital that evening.
Miller is married to Morgan Miller, and the couple has a son Nash, who was born in May 2015.
