David Attenborough sends student handwritten letter after she sent him her dissertation

A university student was over the moon when Sir David Attenborough told her he was looking forward to reading her dissertation.

Emma Tait, 21, only expected a generic reply from someone working for the naturalist when she sent in her work, entitled: The environmental policies and practices implemented at UK music festivals.

She was gobsmacked when Sir David, 93, personally wrote back to her five days later.

The broadcaster told her: Dear Emma Tait, Thank you for sending me a copy of your dissertation. I look forward to reading it. Yours sincerely, David Attenborough.

The thrilled Liverpool John Moores University student tweeted: Posted a copy of my dissertation to David Attenborough and I got a handwritten letter back! Ready to take on climate change with him.

She decided to send her dissertation to the much loved natural historian to see what he thought about the topic.

Other Twitter users shared her delight at the amazing gesture from the UKs national treasure with one person calling it the best thing hes seen all day.

Ms Tait said: When I posted my dissertation to him I thought I would just get a letter back from his PA or something saying thanks for getting in touch.

To receive this letter during a time of such a climate change crisis means a lot to me and I hope he enjoys reading my work.

The event management student added: I sent it to him off my own back. I thought theres no better person to discuss this topic with than David Attenborough.
